The Manchester and Trafford Momentum Committee have voted to endorse Yasmine Dar to be Labour parliamentary candidate for Gorton.
The committee believes that more than any other candidate, Cllr Dar can be relied upon to support the policies Momentum members want the Labour Party to carry through. A consistent and vocal supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, and a lifelong campaigner for social justice and equality, Cllr. Dar is a committed socialist and true community representative for the people of Gorton. A UNITE member, social worker and resident of Whalley Range for over 40 years she has the campaigning and political credentials to represent the whole of this diverse constituency.
As a committee, we are recommending that all Labour Party members in Gorton CLP vote for Cllr Dar at the selection meeting.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd March, 7pm, at the Sheridan Suite, 371 Oldham Rd, Manchester, M40 8RR.
Doors shut at 7pm so be sure to arrive well before and being our party cards and letter you received through the post with your declaration of identity letter.
